THIS WAS TAKEN IN OUR FRONT YARD YESTERDAY. THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS ARE IN BLOOM AND THE BEES ARE DOING THEIR PART, SO THE REST OF USE GET SOMETHING TO EAT LATER IN THE YEAR. THE OREGON COAST IS IN BLOOM WHILE THE EAST COASTERS DIG OUT FROM THE BLIZZARD OF 2015.

we had a large herd of elk here for a visit. these are the three bulls.

i saw an explanation of painting with light and decided to try it myself. this was  taken at about midnight. i had the shutter open for 18 seconds and illuminated the trees and house with a large flash light. oh and in the sky that is not the northern lights, that is me exhaling in the cold night air.

shot this on my way home from camera club. the bottom left of the image is cape foulweather and this is looking to the south. the agate beach light house shimmers light across the water and to the right is a fishing vessel probably pulling crab traps.

These were taken on the Siletz Bay documenting the height of the King on Feb 18th at the peak of the high tide.

As i came off the beach this afternoon i noticed these patterns in the sand, so i stopped and took the shot.

here is a shot taken in 2012 from above proposal rock in Neskowin Oregon. i am looking north to haystack rock in Pacific City and beyond that Cape Lookout about 25 miles away.

Waterfall at Moonshine Park, Lincoln County, Oregon
Standing below the falls, every thing was covered in a fine glaze of ice. had to be real careful moving around. you can see the suspension bridge in the upper right. a fun little walk in the woods
here is a picture of drift creek falls take a couple of days ago
this is what it looked like in 2008

sunset at fishing rock
evening sunset on the siletz bay. ran down to the bay, hiked out into the marsh to the waters edge for a sunset shot of the bay.
a shot from depoe bay. the sky and ocean have the color of the approach of fall.
here is a picture of a friend of mine - bob riggs up on the to top of the knoll in the roads end district of lincoln city. the knoll is a mound about 400 feet high over looking lincoln city from the north looking south to the boiler bay outcropping to the south.

i love the late summer early fall on the oregon coast. typically  warm days, gentle swell, low winds, the most beautiful time of the year. this is looking north of boiler bay, north of depoe bay.
