Odie, neighbors dog, had to leave today. there were some elk hunters camped on the road and they were ruff housing with 150 lbs of dog that wants to play. you want to play with me well i want to play with you. and guess what you loose. so many people had been around this dog with no major problem as long as you didn't try to play rough. long and the short of it, a girl hunter got bit, police report made, and the dog had to go or be put down. sad day in mudville.
its November and we still have humming birds. seems to me they are suppose to be in Costa Rica about now. we keep feeding them so they don't starve to death. there isn't much that blooms this time of the year for nectar and the bug supply is way down. so sugar water it is.
for some reason i woke before sunrise on the 30th, this is not normal. i typically sleep in. got up and looked outside and saw all the parts for a magnificant sunrise, some clouds, blue sky and in a 1/2 hour or so the sun is going to put light it all. up i got, it was cold outside, sweatshirt, wool sweater, and wool hat. grabbed the camera bag and tripod. was well worth the effort. steve
out using my neutral density filter. a bright sunny day with the swell up, crashing on to the rocks below me. with this filter i am able to shoot at a much slower speed allowing the image to blur and display the waters movement. just as with stop action at a high shutter speed this slower shutter speed is able to display things that our eyes and minds can't see. love this kind of shots. steve
I am working on a project that centers around the Cascade Head area. here is another at the base of the head. At this time of the year the fall Chinook (big salmon 30 - 70 lbs) are returning to the place of the birth to spawn and die, completing their life cycle.
