Ansel Adams has a picture taken of the rising moon over the dessert. it appears to be taken at night. the shot i am told was actually shot during the day and with his darkroom magic made it look like a night shot. with that in mind here is a rising moon shot over the siletz estuary taken this evening an hour and a half before sunset.

looks like a giant lizard coming out from under a log at sunset.
sunset on the siletz bay. the pilings are what remains of a pier that stuck out in the middle of the bay. this was before my time here. before all the logging this use to be a much deeper bay.

i went down on siletz bay last night around dusk. the weather was changing and rain is coming in. there was a minus low tide that allowed me to walk almost across the bay. i paid attention to the fact that as the tide returns i might get trapped. i didn't nor did i want to wade through a rising tide with my camera and attachments.steve

Went out look for a picture today. The sun kept popping in and out. I found this egret looking for lunch.
